Boat Club Dock Regulations Effective July 5, 2005 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The object of the club is to encourage
the sport of yachting. Memberships are asked to limit utilization of DOCK/SLIP
space to watercraft, which meet this purpose in both use and appearance.
Due to various physical and environmental limitations, the following cannot be accommodated: multi-hull sailboats and boats that have a flying bridge. Sailboards may be launched from the club but no facilities are available to store the sails and rigging. Canoes and rowing shells may be launched but storage is limited to Board Approved rack space on the bulkhead and they do not qualify for membership. The following are the Dock Regulations at Perrysburg Boat Club. 1. Any boat previously assigned a permanent dock space prior to November 1, 2001 is Grand Fathered to that size dock space unless surrendered by the member or the boat changes ownership. 2. After a Grand Fathered boat leaves a DOCK/SLIP or changes ownership and the member who currently has seniority for the dock does not intend to utilize the dock space with a boat of similar size or one meeting these requirements, the dock space will be awarded by seniority to a member whose boat meets the size requirements set for that dock space. 3. If no boat meets the requirements for a particular dock space, it may be assigned to a smaller boat by seniority on a year-to-year basis. 4. The following are the dock size requirements as set by the Board of Governors.
|
5. Any member with a boat change or new member bringing a boat into the Club after November 1, 2001 must provide the Board of Governor’s with a copy of the title, which gives the boat length and a copy of the manufacturers specifications indicating beam width as proof the boat meets the size requirements. If no length is indicated on the title and or no manufacturers specification is available for beam width, the boat must be measured. A boat will be measured lengthwise by taking a plumb line from the foremost projection at the bow (including pulpit, bowsprint, etc) and the stern of the boat. The beam width will be measured by using plumb lines at the widest part of the boat. The Dock Master and one Board member or two Board members shall take the measurements. The Secretary Treasurer shall keep the documents or measurements on file with a members record as proof of compliance.
6. DOCK/SLIP assignments will be made by the Dock Master on a seniority basis.
A. A membership may not displace another membership from their assigned DOCK/SLIP.
B. No membership will be assigned additional dockage until all memberships with more seniority have declined.
C. Each membership must fill out a dock request for the current year to be turned in with their dues.
D. Requests for changes and additional dockage shall be made in writing to the Dock Master by April 1 with a copy to the Secretary Treasurer. Requests will be honored in accordance with above procedure.
E. Any existing dock holder who held but did not occupy his dock for the entire season during the previous year must have his boat tied to his assigned dock by July 1st of the current boating year. Should the dock holder not meet these requirements, he may forfeit his claim to that dock and be reassigned to another dock. The dock will then be posted, re-rented or reassigned on a seniority basis with no right of retention by the prior dock holder.
7. DOCKS/SLIPS will only be assigned to a membership in good standing.
A. A membership may allow occasional guest dockage by AYC and I-LYA affiliated boats or guest boats of Perrysburg Boat Club members in their assigned space for up to (4) nights in any month with Dock Master approval.
B. A membership may not sublet a DOCK/SLIP.
C. Due to a potential shortage of space and except for circumstances received in writing and approved by the Board, those docks/slips which are unused after May 31 or which are unused for any thirty day (30) period following May 31 may be reassigned by the dock master for the remainder of the year. No refunds will be made. New assignee will have to pay a prorated dock fee.8. An unassigned DOCK/SLIP space will be posted on the downstairs bulletin board for seven (7) days prior to assignment and will be assigned under above regulations.
9. All boats must have their bows pointed up river unless otherwise approved by the Board. The Board must also approve any alterations to the docks or extensions between boats. No part of the boat shall extend over the main dock.
10. Dry docking of any boats on Club grounds is limited to canoes and rowing shells in Board Approved rack storage and sunfish or similar sailing craft stored on the floating dry dock.
11. Except for momentary parking for the purpose of loading or unloading boats, parking of any type of vehicle on the bulkhead is not allowed.
12. If a larger boat is purchased after April 1 and it exceeds the limits of the assigned dock, it will not be allowed to dock at the Club unless there is a vacant dock available that allows dockage under the above regulations.
13. Dry dock usage: Use only jute-backed carpeting for board boat entry point. Secure carpeting with 1” galvanized or aluminum roofing nails (no staples).
14. Wet dock usage: Tie mooring lines to cleats on docks or a heavy frame structure; do not tie to pipes! Mooring lines shall be a minimum of 3/8” nylon or poly or 1/2” hemp or larger. Do not use cotton or jute.
15. Any person under 10 years of age must wear a life jacket at all times while walking on the bulkhead or docks. Running and stone throwing on docks and bulkhead are prohibited.
16. Out of courtesy to other members, T-docks are to be used for short-term dockage only. Guest docking is provided for I-LYA and AYC affiliated club members and guest boats of Perrysburg Boat Club members. Insist on proof of affiliated club membership (membership card or burgee) when guest dockage is requested or the member who has a guest boat must so advise the Dock Master. Use of T docks is not allowed for July 4th fireworks and or other specified Board dates or events.
17. The fueling of boats at the docks is prohibited.
18. The charging of batteries at the docks or anywhere at the Club is prohibited. Boat Engine operation while the normal electrical system is connected and properly functioning is not considered charging for the purpose of this rule.
19. The ice machine is to be used for boating-related activities only (not for home use or other non-boating uses). Members should limit amount of ice taken as a courtesy to other members
