Regulations
The purpose of Perrysburg Boat Club is to encourage the
sport of yachting. Dock/slip space is
limited to the utilization of watercraft, which meet the purpose of yachting in
both use and appearance. Docks (66

A. All dock/slips with nineteen feet six inches between finger docks will be limited to boats less than twenty-five feet in title length and a maximum of eight feet six inches in width. Thirty-five slips are available in this classification.
B. All dock/slips with twenty-two feet between finger docks and twenty–five foot finger docks will be limited to a maximum title length of thirty feet and a minimum title length of twenty-five feet. The width will be limited to a maximum of nine feet six inches. Ten dock/slips are available in this classification.
C. All dock/slips with twenty-two feet between finger docks and twenty foot finger docks will be limited to a maximum title length of less than twenty-five feet. The width will be limited to a maximum of nine feet six inches. Two dock/slips are available in this classification.
D. All dock/slips with twenty–three feet six inches between finger docks and T docks and twenty foot finger docks will be limited to maximum title length of less than twenty-five feet. The width will be limited to a maximum of nine feet nine inches. Four dock/slips are available in this classification.
E. The dock/slips with twenty-three feet six inches between finger and tee docks with twenty-five foot long finger docks as well as the dock spaces adjacent to these tee docks are on the mid down and river docks. They will be limited to a maximum overall title length of thirty feet and a minimum title length of twenty feet. The width will be limited to a maximum of ten feet. Four dock/slips are available in this classification.
F. The dock/slips with twenty-three feet six inches between finger and tee docks with twenty-five foot long finger docks as well as the dock spaces adjacent to these tee docks with power located on the up-river dock. They will be limited to a maximum overall title length of thirty feet and a minimum title length of twenty-five feet. The width will be limited to a maximum of ten feet. Four dock/slips are available in this classification.
G. Pontoon boats will only be allowed in dock/slips D1, D3, D5, D7, and D9. Pontoon boats are limited to twenty-five feet or less in title length and a maximum of eight feet six inches in width. These are the only docks/slips where member pontoon boats are desired, unless a seawall dock is open, at the present time.
The number of pontoon boats and their position at the docks are to be set as approved by the current board.
Boats That Do Not Qualify for
Membership
A. Multi-hulled sail boats.
B. Boats with a flying bridge.
C. Sailboards may be launched – no facilities to store sails and rigging.
D. Canoes, kayaks, rowboats, and rowing shells may be launched. Storage is limited to Board approved space.
E. Personal water craft.
Yearly Registration and Insurance Requirements
A. Every member
must provide the Board of Governor’s with a current copy of the title, which
gives the boat’s length, and a copy of the manufacturer’s specifications
indicating beam width as proof the boat meets the size requirements. If no
length is indicated on the title and or no manufacture’s specification is
available for beam width, the boat must be measured. A boat will be measured
lengthwise between plumb lines
from the foremost projection at the bow (including pulpit, bowsprit, etc) and
the stern of the boat.
(1) The beam width will be
measured between plumb lines at the widest part of the boat. The dock master
and one board member or two board members shall take the measurements. The
secretary-treasurer shall keep the documents or measurements on file with the
member’s record as proof of compliance.
B. The boat
docks can be assigned but will not be used until the new or current member
presents the title and proof of insurance as required. The minimum liability
coverage of $100,000 is required before their dock assignment is approved. The
copy of the insurance policy shall be up-dated every year on its effective
date.
C. A copy of the certificate of title must be on file for all boats assigned a wet dock.
D. A copy of the registration must be on file for all boats assigned a space on the dry dock.
Docks-In and Docks-Out
A. All members are strongly urged to be
present to put the docks in, which is normally the third weekend in April. All members are also strongly urged to be
present to take the docks out, which is normally the third weekend in October.
B. Dock finger
poles also known as “four by fours” shall be in place on each members dock
between June 1 and October 1. A $10 fine will be assessed to the “owner of the
dock” for each pole that has not been installed by June 1.
C. All boats must be out of PBC docks/slips by the Wednesday before Docks Out. A $50.00 fine will be assessed for each twenty-four hour period or portion thereof that a boat remains in the dock space at PBC beginning at 6 o’clock on the Wednesday before Docks Out.
D. If a boat is not removed from the PBC dock/slip by six p.m. the Wednesday before the scheduled Docks-Out, a towing service may be called and the boat will be towed at the owner’s expense.
E. A $5 fee will be assessed for each “four by four” that is not taken off the occupant’s dock by six p.m. the Wednesday before the scheduled Docks Out. The dock “owner” or the “member” who is sub-leasing the dock is responsible for the “four by fours”.
F. Boat equipment which includes sails, dagger boards, rudders, and “four by fours” are to be removed from PBC by November 1.
Dock/
Slip Assignments
A. Permanent dock/ slip assignments will be made by the Commodore, Dock Master, and Secretary-Treasurer immediately following the dock renters meeting. This meeting will be held on the first Sunday in April at 2:00 pm each year. This is the only time of the year that permanent dockage will be assigned.
B. As of April 1, 2009 a member will not be awarded a dock/slip unless proof of liability insurance is on file with the secretary-treasurer or his designee. Any membership second boat dockage requests when approved, by the Dock Master are considered temporary. The boat may be removed at any time by the Dock Master to accommodate the space for a member’s primary boat when needed. A secondary dock renter and the boat used in the slip carries no size, placement, or seniority rights, with the only exception being that their club seniority will be considered to displace another members secondary dock/slip rental.
C. A dock/ slip will only be assigned to a membership in
good standing.
D. Each
membership applying for a wet dock/slip must fill out and sign a dock request
for the current year to be turned in with their dues, proof of liability insurance, and certificate of title, unless the
certificate of title is already on file. The original certificate of title must
be provided to the dock master upon request.
E. Each
membership applying for a dry dock must fill out and sign a dock request for the current year to be turned in with their
dues. A copy of their boat registration form, unless a copy of the boat
registration is already on file, must be turned in by April 1 when dock
assignments are made.
F. A membership may not displace another membership from their assigned dock/slip.
G. After the
dock renters meeting has concluded. No membership will be assigned additional
dockage until, all memberships with more seniority, and requesting additional
dockage has been assigned a dock/slip.
H. Requests for
changes and additional dockage shall be made in writing to the Dock Master by April
1, with a copy to the Secretary-Treasurer and Commodore.
I. An unassigned dock/slip will be posted on
the downstairs bulletin board for thirty days and be published in the newsletter before it is temporary assigned
by the Dock Master for the rest of the current boating season.
J. Except
for circumstances received in writing and approved by the Board, the
docks/slips which are unused after July 1, may be reassigned by the Dock Master
for the remainder of the year. No refunds will be made. New assignee
will have to pay a prorated dock fee on the difference, if any.

K. A membership may not sublet a dock/slip.
L. If a larger boat is purchased and it exceeds the limits of the assigned dock, it will not be allowed to dock at the club unless there is a vacant dock available that allows dockage under the above regulations.
M. If no boat meets the requirements for a particular dock space, it may be assigned to a smaller boat by seniority on a year to year basis.
N. No dock will be issued to a boat that is not
titled to a PBC member.
O. No dock will be issued to boats that are
titled to more than one membership.
P.
Persons who have two docks, after they were assigned for the season, by
the Dock Master, have precedence over someone who wants another dock.
Q. Pontoon boats cannot be assigned a dock
space unless the adjacent boat within the same well is another pontoon boat or
it is located at a sea wall slip.
R. Money will not be refunded for docks after April 15.
Forfeiture of a Dock
A. Any existing dock holder, who held but did not occupy their dock for the entire season during the previous year, must have their boat at their dock by July 1 of the current boating season. Should the dock holder not meet these assigned dock requirements, they shall forfeit their claim to that dock and the dock/slip will be reassigned. The dock will then be posted, permanently assigned on a seniority basis as per rule I, “Dock/Slip Assignments”.
B. A boat must occupy a dock for at least thirty days per year to be considered an entire season, except for circumstances received in writing during the current season and approved by the Board.
Electric Docks
A. All cords must be stowed as much as possible under the docks.
B. All electrical cords on the aluminum docks must run under the walkway of the docks. Only the end connector should run up to the power box connection. It is recommended that a cord be purchased to leave in place for the dockage season.
C. No dock lines may be moored to the electrical power posts.
D. Members are asked to help control the cost of power by not running air conditioning or other high draw electrical equipment when their boats will be unoccupied for an overnight period.
E. Boats at docks served by electricity will be charged an additional fee per season.
F. Members without a dock assignment served by electric who utilize electric service in a vacant slip or on the T dock will be charged $2 a night for electric hook up.
Wet Dock
A. All boats must have their bows pointed up river unless Board approved.
B. No part of the boat shall extend over the main dock.
C. Any
alteration to the docks must be approved by the Board. In addition, any
alterations to the finger docks, including adding or removing corner fenders or
carpeting, must be coordinated and approved by the dock partner.
D. Mooring lines must be tied to cleats on the docks or a heavy frame structure. For safety reasons, mooring lines must not be tied to pipes.
E. Mooring lines shall be a minimum of three eighths inch in diameter.
F. Cotton or jute lines cannot be used.
Dry Dock
A. Dry docking
of any boats on club grounds is limited to canoes, kayaks, and rowing shells, on “board approved- storage”. Sunfish or similar sailing craft must be stored on the floating
dry-dock. A temporary space on the dry
dock may be assigned by the board. There is a fee for this usage.
B. Use only jute-backed carpeting on the dry dock. Secure carpeting with one inch galvanized or aluminum roofing nails. Do not use staples.
C. All dock renters are requested to store their
boats forward on the dock so that the last three boards are left clear to
enable members to walk on the sunfish dock.
T- Docks
A. Out of courtesy to other members, T-docks are to be used for short-term dockage only.
B. Use of T-docks is
not allowed for July 4th fireworks or other dates if specified by
the Board. (3)
C. The rafting of
boats at the T docks will be at the discretion of the Dock Master.
Safety
A. All persons under ten years of age must wear a life jacket at all times on the bulkhead and docks.
B. The fueling of boats at the docks is prohibited.
C. The use of AC battery chargers at the docks or anywhere at the club is prohibited. A jump start for a maximum of fifteen minutes is allowable.
D. Except for momentary parking for the purpose of loading or unloading of boats, parking of any type of vehicle on the bulkhead is not allowed.
E. Running and stone throwing on the bulkhead and docks is prohibited.
F. All guests must be accompanied by a PBC club member.
Guest Dockage
A. Guest dockage is available for guests of PBC members for up to four nights in any month with dock master approval.
B. Guest docking is provided for I-LYA and AYC affiliated club members. Proof of affiliated club membership, such as a membership card or burgee, is required when guest dockage is requested.
C. Visiting boats on the T dock, utilizing power may have to run their cords across the top of the T dock. All due caution should be used to minimize the amount of electrical cord lying on the dock.
D. Members who bring boats to PBC and dock in a dock/ slip not assigned to them may do so for four nights in any month. An additional four nights are allowed for regatta weekend.
E. Members of affiliated clubs or guest boats of Perrysburg Boat Club members may have dockage on a first come first serve basis. Charges and nights will be based on their club’s reciprocal practices. If no reciprocity, the fee will be $10 per night. The boat may remain at PBC for four nights in any month.
F. Additional days of dockage may be approved by the Dock Master.
Dock
Emergency
A. Docks will normally be declared opened or closed by the Dock Master in writing on the downstairs bulletin board or on the internet. The Commodore or next available club officer will preside in his absence. The Commodore, next available Club Officer or in their absence a Board Member may declare a dock emergency.
B. In an emergency all boats must be removed from the docks as quickly as possible to preserve their integrity.
C. If a boat owner is not immediately available to remove his boat from the dock/slip, another club member may have to move the boat. The club or the club members shall not be held liable for any damages to the boat. In the event the boat cannot be moved, a commercial towing service may be called to move the boat at the owner’s expense.
Sail Room
A. Any items left that do not pertain to sailing items or PBC work items shall be stored in the sail room.
B. Items left in the sail room after November 1 will be discarded.
Water
A. Because Perrysburg Boat Club is limited to the number of water outlets available to members, they are intended as a temporary means of connecting a hose for washing a boat or filling the boats fresh water tank.
B. Hoses should be removed and stowed after use.
Ice Machine
A. The ice machine is to be used for boating related activities only and not for home use or other non-boating uses.
B. Members should limit amount of ice taken as a courtesy to others.
Consequences of Infractions
Anyone not adhering to the rules and regulations set forth by Perrysburg Boat Club will be called before the board and their membership may be revoked. The boat owner agrees that PBC assumes no responsibility for the boat and is in no way liable for any loss or damage to said boat, its hull, rigging, engine, contents or equipment caused by wind, rain, theft, fire, snow, ice, current, vandalism or any other cause or means.
